What is Reported Speech?

Reported Speech (also called Indirect Speech) is used to tell someone what another person said without quoting their exact words. It often involves changes in tense, pronouns, and time expressions.

  2. Change to Reported Speech: "We will meet at 5 PM." (Answer: They said that they would meet at 5 PM.)
  3. Rewrite in Reported Speech: "I didn't finish the project." (Answer: He said that he hadn't finished the project.)
  4. Identify the mistake: "She said that she will come tomorrow." (Answer: Use "would": "She said that she would come the next day.")
